Welcome! At the VRRI we believe that people with disabilities have the right to live with dignity as contributing and valued members of the community. This guiding principle is the foundation for everything we do at the VRRI and is reflected by our mission.
The VRRI operates Calgary's only not-for-profit bottle depot, it employs people of all levels of ability and demonstrates the benefits of an integrated workforce.
It's My History, Too! is a story of Albertans with developmental disabilities and their helpers. Do you know this story? Bad things happened. Good things happened. Told in their words, these stories will span the province's 100-year history. The goal is to develop a museum quality exhibit that will feature mavericks - Albertans who have made a profound difference in the lives of Albertans with developmental disabilities at any time in the province's history.
