The VRRI Recreation Center has been providing for the recreation and leisure needs of the Calgary community since 1977. The Center offers a wide variety of activities for the whole family, including swimming classes and a host of other activities in our warm, salt water pool.   We currently have openings in the Aquatic Department for Aquatic Shift Leaders.

The Aquatic Shift Leaders at the VRRI provides leadership and direction to our team of dynamic recreation specialists who encourage and promote the safe enjoyment of aquatic activities.  We are looking for an experienced lifeguard with a minimum two years of Aquatic related experience who has demonstrated strong teaching and leadership skills to fill week day, evening and weekend shifts.

As the Aquatic Shift Leaders you will be responsible for life guarding and instructing aquatic programs, supervising aquatic staff and pool area, maintaining pool operation and completing administrative duties. Your qualifications include the National Lifeguard Services Award, Water Safety Instructor, Standard First Aid or Aquatic Emergency Care, Basic Rescuer CPR, Lifesaving Instructor and Basic Pool Operations. Advanced Pool Operations and Advanced Leadership training would be a definite asset.
