| A Framework for Researching Aging-Related Issues for Developmental Disabilities |
|---|
| Description | One of the fastest growing challenges for services to persons with developmental disabilities in Alberta is that of responding to the diversity and changing needs of individuals who are approaching retirement and facing other age-related issues (e.g., increasing dependence on the health care system, or onset of dementia). In response to these concerns, the Calgary Region Community Board Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD Calgary) has led the way by commissioning the VRRI to conduct a groundwork report to identify: 1) the issues, 2) the gaps or barriers, and 3) the needs of aging individuals with a developmental disability within the Calgary Region. | | Funders and partners | Contracted by the Calgary Region Community Board Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD). | | | Project status and timelines | Phase I Complete.
