This transition program is a joint partnership between the VRRI and Wood's Homes. The partnership model upon which New Outlook is built has to its’ benefit two established organizations’ expertise in providing creative and flexible community-based programs for complex needs individuals.

The VRRI’s New Outlook program is designed to ease the challenges and stressors for adolescents with complex needs who are entering (or experiencing difficulties within) the adult service system.

New Outlook provides safe, short-term transition services in the community. Holistic services are provided for young adults (18 – 24 years) with disabilities and complex needs who require a structured, gradual transition into adult services in order to maximize their success in adult services and within the community.

At New Outlook we focus on skill development and establishing community connections. Services offered include: Community Living Supports, Community Employment Supports, Community Access Supports, and Specialized Community Supports.

Intensive individualized planning occurs with the client and their team at the onset of services, and continues throughout the delivery of services both formally and informally. Services are directed by the individual, and flexibility is maintained in the staffing supports to accommodate this individualization. Clients may access one or more of any of the services at any given time
