Gifts of Cash

Gifts of cash are important to our work in the community. This giving option is an important resource providing ongoing operational funding for the VRRI. These gifts may be given for a specific service or program and are accepted by phone, mail or online. To make a gift online please click here.

Bequests

When preparing or revising your will, you can make a lasting gift to the VRRI by designating us as a recipient of your estate. A planned gift of personal property or real estate, a specific sum of money or a percentage of estate assets can be a meaningful way to leave your legacy.

Life Insurance

You can designate the VRRI as the owner or beneficiary of a life insurance policy. There are many options available to you for making a gift using life insurance policies as a vehicle. This may afford you tax advantages and allow you to give a larger gift than you might otherwise be able to.

Residual Interest

Gifts of personal property such real estate or art work may be given and tax receipted right away, while you retain the right to use the property during your lifetime. Once an irrevocable gift is made to the VRRI, a tax receipt for the present value of the residual interest in the asset donated will be issued.

A Gift of Publicly Traded Securities

Gifts of stock, stock options, bonds and mutual funds are important to our work in the community. This giving option is a valuable resource providing ongoing operational and endowment funding. Gifts of publicly traded securities may be given to the VRRI to support a specific service or program of your choice.

Donation of Real Estate

The VRRI accepts gifts of real estate property to assist us in providing programs and services to the individuals we support. If we do not have an immediate need for a specific property we can still accept the gift as a charitable contribution and, consistent with the wishes of the donor, sell the property and use the proceeds in support of our services. Donated real estate is subject to our acceptance policy and must be in good condition having a value applicable to our needs.

Memorial Funds

You may honour a friend, family member or other loved one with a memorial gift that celebrates his or her memory. Donations that commemorate special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries are also greatly appreciated.

If you, your group or your business would like to know more about the ways you can assist the VRRI, please contact our Director of Development.
