Special projects address the immediate needs of the VRRI. This may include technology upgrading, the renovation and maintenance of our homes, or assistance with an innovative research project. In-kind donations of materials, cash contributions, and items for enhancement of the daily living of the people who use our services are all welcome.

To ensure availability of affordable and accessible housing for persons with disabilities, the VRRI owns and operates nine homes in the Calgary area. Corporations, civic groups and interested individuals may adopt a VRRI home. Groups may assist with renovations and upkeep, as well as decorating and furnishing a home through the donation of cash, in-kind contributions, specialized skills and volunteer time.

The VRRI keeps an ongoing updated list of needed program materials, equipment, household items and supplies, construction materials for renovation projects, along with transportation and recreational requests. These lists are available for individuals, businesses, clubs and organizations to choose from as a way to support our programs and services.
